Comments from around the world:

Hello folks, I am Stavanger, Norway this week. I keep looking on the bow of our home, the MV Dragonfly, across from the cold storage but I don't see my wife standing there waving at me. But that doesn't spoil the view. I can see the boat, no rain drops on the cam and I bet the ICE sign is fixed by the time I get back!

My best to you and thank you for the cam. - Michael

I moved up to Bellingham with my then fiancée in the summer of 2005, he was from around there, still has some family up there. (I'm in Oklahoma now.) I must say just viewing the webcam brings tears to my eyes for so many reasons. It was a great city first of all, and my fiancée and I spent a lot of time together at Zuanich Park sitting and talking, picnicking and so on. We were moving up there to get married and start a life together, we had been engaged for 5 years and been friends longer than that. There was some confusion and stress and on a stupid emotional whim decided I would throw my engagement ring into the bay. Actually it was the right around BCS's waterfront I did that. I don't have a very strong arm so it only went about 30 to 40 feet out. What makes it even worse is it was the engagement ring his grandfather gave to his grandmother. So basically, we broke up and we both ended back up in Oklahoma. Just looking at the cam-view and the water brings on a burst of mixed emotions. A piece of my heart is with that bay. I'm sure the lady of the bay will keep it well. -Pearl (You don't really HAVE to post this, I just thought I would share my bay memories with you.) I'm the admin. receptionist at the Port of Bellingham.  As I am chained to this desk, and it's a perfectly gorgeous day--and my view is of the street and the railroad cars--I most sincerely thank you!! - L. Lawson

Ahoy there:  Just thought I would drop you a note and tell you how much I appreciate your web cam. I live on San Juan Island and use your cam to decide whether to ride my motorcycle or drive my car (or stay home warm and dry and use the Internet) to go shopping. Riding the motorcycle is not only more fun, it also saves money on gas and ferry fairs.

I like your town and sometimes it's just fun to check up on the weather there.  Fair winds and following seas. - Kent

Checking-in from Richmond, VA. I have a sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay and am in the process of placing a web cam at the marina to be able to check in when I’m not able to make the 75mi drive. I’d be interested to know what hardware and software you use for the camera and the weather stats too. - Matt

I have two live streaming video webcams looking out over Drayton harbor in Blaine. Each has 4 preset view point you can move the view to. Would it be possible to get a link added to your site? I'll do the same for your site. www.blainewebcams.com. - Dan

Hi, I love the cam, and use it to look at incoming weather systems to plan the day. It would be even nicer if you could turn it a little west. LOL!!! The summer views of the islands are the best. Thanks for the service, it is a great home webpage. - Steve B'ham, WA

From Wyoming: Love the website. Makes me a little homesick, as we spent many a day and a few nights up there. We had a boat moored there for a couple of years. Beautiful.

Hello! I'm watching from work (mt. baker imaging) and it keeps me sane! There is no window view from my desk.. or any window in this room so I watch the webcam to feel like I know what's going on outside!! -Baylee

We came across your site while looking up info on Bellingham. We enjoy coming back for a peek occasionally. Bellingham is hopefully our next home town. We are seriously planning to move there summer of next year. Singhs from Cary, North Carolina

My daughter lives in Bellingham and sent me this site. I wanted to see what she does. Thanks. Diana from Anchorage, AK

Great Cam! Watching from shoreline to determine if I should drive up to go kiting at Locust Ave. Thank YOU!! Bob

Just wanted to say I'm enjoying the view from Prattville Alabama. I grew up in Bellingham in the 70's and early 80's, so I enjoy the view on your site, lots of memories. I like to see how the weather is back home! Thanks, Luke

Hi, I'm from Oregon and my husband and I are planning to move to Bellingham in January 2008. We are so excited and are spending the next year visiting your beautiful city. I found this web-cam about 2 months ago and have really enjoyed peaking in on our new home. I have saved a few images that I thought were just amazing. Since you probably don't have the time to sit and watch the cam all day for amazing shots I thought I would send you the ones that I have gotten that were particularly interesting. The day and time stamp will be on the bottom of the image. I'm so excited to visit again in April, and thanks for having this web-cam. - Cynthia

A real nice way to check on your boat:) Thank You, S/V Sea Horse Sonora, Texas

Hello Webmaster, I watch occasionally from Pittsburgh and love the view of the bay! My father George Tangvald used to work as a maintenance man at Bellingham Cold Storage (retired in mid 1980's) and we would sometimes drive down to pick him up after work. So these views from the cold storage bring back good memories. Thanks! I was born and raised mostly in Bellingham and graduated from BHS way back... To me, nothing beats Washington, but have grown to appreciate Pennsylvania as God's country too! - Janet (Tangvald) Fox

Hello there fine folks, It's nice to touch base with you via your live weather camera! Thanks and greetings from Ramstein Germany! My daughter lives and works in Bellingham and we are building our retirement home out in the county. It's a real blessing to be living in the technological age, especially when it helps keep us connected with loved ones. Thanks again for going to the trouble to keep us 'linked' even if it's just a live picture of the beautiful bay. Peace, Jim

Austin, TX. I enjoy the cam. Jack

I’m viewing the webcam from Ross On Wye near Hereford in England….. I have a relation who lives in Bellingham. - Mike

I'm watching from Napa California. My Dad & sister live in Bellingham. I love it there! P.S. It's been pretty cold down here lately too!

We live in Ferndale, WA and love your web/cam site! I’ve given the site address to family all over the country. It’s hard for them to realize that when they hear about “Seattle” weather….it is not the same as our weather here in the upper northwestern corner of Washington. My husband and I absolutely love it here. We purchased some property and retired….leaving sunny San Diego (actually Alpine, which is east of S.D.) behind. I still love visiting there and several of our children are there. I recently discovered that I prefer flying out of Bellingham airport rather than taking the shuttle to Seatac. Whether I’m flying off to Virginia…Florida…California…or Wyoming to visit family, it is always good to get home.

Thanks for having this site up. I check it all the time for current temp. - Mark

Viewed from Hartford CT.  Got site address from Earl Hutchins - thanks for the view!

Hello, I grew up in Bham and now am watching from Phoenix. Craig

I heard about the bay cam my last trip to the boat at Bellingham from a local sailor. I previously used the Wash. state highway camera at Blaine to check on the weather there. Now I get the weather, temp and much more not 300 ft from my boat. GREAT. My boat is at the end of F dock just across from the Shell fuel dock.... just to the left of the camera view. Amazing that I can almost check on the boat from Spokane. I looked at your entire website and the history of the camera. Great site. BTW.. does BCS have tours of your facility? Thank you Bill Murray s/v Marrisa Tayana V42 Bellingham/Spokane

This website is great - I have always been a "weather-watcher" and this makes it even easier. I like being able to see the wind speed as well. But the best part is that my aunt who spends the winter in New Jersey with her daughter and misses home is enjoying it. I sent her the link, and she can keep track of home every day. She is 91 and flies back and forth to NJ twice a year by herself. Thanks for your work. Sue

We just bought a house on Glen Cove Ln. off Lakeway Dr. We looked at Portland and Seattle but the traffic did us in and Bham. is just right for us. Gary & Meg

Watching from Lafayette, CA (East Bay)

Moving from the Big Island of Hawaii to Bellingham in less than 3 weeks! We can't wait to make our first appearance on the Cam! - 2-Part & SparkyJ

This cam will be the end of my career. My wife and I love it. We spend our days at work watching and e-mailing back and fourth what we are seeing. Needless to say it makes it impossible to concentrate on work. We fell in love with your city a few years ago and have been dreaming of returning soon for a more permanent stay. Keep up with the great views. Ted (Wichita, KS)

Bellingham Webmaster, I'm checking up on the weather in Bellingham. My daughter attends WWU and I like to see what her day is like in the beautiful NW. I'm a peeping tom from San Francisco. Richard

Just found your wind graph. I usualy check your web site after dark so the camera doesn't reveal much but the wind page is great. Thanks, Larry Roteman MV Synergy Squalicum Harbor.

Awesome upgrade on the weather numbers! What a great service, thank you! Glenn SV Tusk

I’ve just discovered Bay Cam and am delighted. It will help me skip some rough taters – like the batch I encountered one day last summer. The Bay Cam is interesting, and, with a bit of humor. Thanks, Richard (Eastsound, WA)

My wife is visiting Bellingham this week for the funeral of a dear loved one, and I am at home with the boys. Sadness permeates our disposition. But thanks to your web page I can picture her across the bay 12 streets up from the park. Your web cam spans the miles and makes me feel better to know she's there, and I somehow can share that moment with her. Good job! Bill in Greybull, WY

beautiful view....wish i were there...ed williams.........south bend indiana...

I live in Port Angeles WA, I like your site

I love the view!!!! Hi there, Thanks so much for the awesome view!! Our family is from Bellingham and we moved to Michigan in early August. We visit your site everyday to see home. We’re southsiders who are really homesick!! Thank you for providing us with a touch of home each day. It makes being away a little easier. Sincerely, The Anderson Family, Lansing MI.

I’m going to law school here in Washington but I’m a born and bred Whatcom County kid! I just left my house in Fairhaven and I miss the Bay, so thanks for letting me daydream in the middle of class!  Todd Anderson, Lansing MI

Love the new camera orientation, not as many windsurfers in view, but great weather and sunsets!

My wife and I moved to Bellingham recently and settled in the Columbia neighborhood, just up the hill from BCS where the webcam is located. My wife landed a good job in Bellingham, but my best offer required me to move to Shanghai, so we are now on opposite sides of the Pacific for much of the year. Your webcam shot is now the centerpiece of my Google homepage. It's a real treat for a guy who is far from home and family. Thanks! Tom Martin Shanghai, China

Hi, Thanks so much for the beautiful camera views. We're watching from Spokane, WA. The air outside is unhealthy today due to all the forest fire smoke blowing this way. Looking at the bay cam, we're imagining all the nice clean air and breezes. M. Singer

Hi, As a Bellinghamster living in Sweden, I just want to say thanks for this little window to one of my all time favorite places! Andrew in Stockholm

Lonesome in Oklahoma. Former resident and WWU grad wishing to come home. Thanks for the vicarious comfort. B.

I am in New Orleans Louisiana working Hurricane Katrina. It was nice to pull up a shot of home. Sondra

I love the Bay cam! We are moving to Ferndale at the end of this month and I enjoy your up to date weather and pics of the Bay. Your efforts are appreciated, and I can hardly wait to see everything in person. Deb from Grand Junction, CO

Enjoying the CAM from Iowa City, Iowa. Our daughter will be attending WWU in the fall and I enjoy checking the weather/sunsets. Looking forward to visiting in a few months. Thanks for sharing your beautiful part of the world.--D

Hi, My name is Carol Bellingham and I live near a little town called Wem in Shropshire, England. Just put my surname in Google search and came up with your site. The temperture is around the same here but we are quite a way from the sea. Thank you for letting me see a little of your town. - Carol

Am watching from Tustin, Orange County, CA -- beautiful pictures! Learned about the cam from google earth Thank-you!

I am viewing your BAY CAM from Hammond, LA. (45 miles North of New Orleans) I am anxious to come home and use my boat that's dry slipped by the Coast Guard dock near the light house.

bhambaycam.html rocks! I check it out a few times from desk in Bellingham before sailing Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Keep up the great site! BTW, looks like you have a spider web on the camera. - Bruce from DIS Corp.

I'm a hang glider pilot who is one of many in the Northwest who loves to fly Blanchard Mt, just south of Chuckanut Mt. Figuring out what the weather is doing there can be tricky. Your web cam helps immensely, especially since it is pointed to the SW where the weather approaches Blanchard from. I have linked to your cam from our Northwest Weather page, guiplot.com. Thanks for a great resource. Dave Duperon

Enjoying the cam from New Orleans. Loved the giant spider attack today from 11:36am to 11:56. Hope no one was hurt. Looking forward to spending a week in Bell'am in June (down here Bham = Birmingham). Malcolm Genet

Ernie Salotti put us on to this site and its a beauty. Thanks - Marguerite from Honaker, Va

Hello from the land down under. Love the view & it helps refresh my memories as I was there 12 months ago. Keep up the good work & hope everyone on Squalicum Hbr are enjoying themselves. Cheers from Nev in Oz.

Just ran across reference to your camera in trawlers-and-trawlering . . . love the view because it's looking southwest, apparently. Have a 34' boat at Anacortes, and a 40' boat we just acquired at LaConner. So you're looking right at us!

Enjoying the photos from the Sunshine Coast in Australia.  Keep up the nice photos - Ken

viewing the cam From Black Forest, Colorado - a former resident of Bham & graduate of Western... who hopes to return and retire there shortly........

Hi from Manistee, MI - WWU has offered a professorship to a member of family, and we've been doing some online exploring of your area. Looks great! Our oldest daughter has been an oceanographer at UW in Seattle for 10 years, and we have visited the area many times. Our town, Manistee, MI, is a port city on the Great Lakes with a logging history back into 1800s. We live on a family farm built from lumber cut on the "back forty". Be seeing you next year. God bless you!

Thanks for a great service! Im a sailor from Portland Oregon who recently bought a boat in Bellingham. I log into your webcam at least daily to check the conditions where my baby is moored and see what the upcoming weekend will bring after my 5 hour drive. Thanks, John Kohl S/V Sea Monkey

I check you guys cam on a regular basis to see something missed so much. I'm watching from Houston, Texas; a long ways away. I used to live there a few years back and can't wait to return. I plan to move back after college. I miss driving down Lakeway drive every day to go home, and love to see the great weather on your cam daily. Thanks guys -Kasey

Greetings from Stockholm, Sweden. It's always a pleasure to check what kind of weather it is in B-ham. We purchase our freshwater cooling kits from San Juan Engineering, Bellingham and it's fun to tease our friends at SJE when it's raining.... Bertil Palmblad Martec. Int AB Karlberg strand S-171 73 SOLNA

Watching from Cambria CA.  Hey y'all - We just love the web cam from the bay and especially the option to watch a movie from the preceding hour. So cool! We would like to move up there sometime in the next year or so and it's good to be up to date on what the weather is like. Thanks! Tobey

Very nice site - thanks a lot ... particularly like the weather stuff; very well laid out - Nick

Thanks for your web cam! We are up in Blaine and heard from people it was snowing! It is now 1:40 here on Thursday and it just started snowing. We have alot of employees that live in B'ham - Fairhaven so this has been a great help. Thanks again! - JoAnne

Bay Cam Folks, I have been watching your bay cam for about 3 months now from my home in San Diego, California, usually a few times a week. I'm moving up to Bellingham in March after I get married and I like to check the weather and watch the sunsets on your camera. Thanks for the view! I'll come by after I move there and see the same view for myself. - Daniel

I love the Bay Cam. It is my computer's desktop, so I can see beautiful Bellingham Bay all day. In fact, I rely on the Bay Cam and your weather station to tell me if conditions are good for sailing. My kids check your weather station before going to school because your weather observations are more reliable than the Weather Channel's. Thanks, BCS, for a wonderful service. - Mike

Sitting here in Kona HI looking at my favorite kiteboarding spot the Bellingham Bay or should I say Locust beach, thanks for keeping it going. The wind charts are very helpful as well, I cant wait to get back to Bham. - Ivan

I have enjoyed checking this view and the great weather info for several years. We finally moved to Bellingham in Spring 2004 and continue to use the site on an almost daily basis. However, you recently have been tinkering with the view and a fringe benefit I liked has disappeared. I used to be able to check on our boat moored on G West near the end. This is really good when we are checking it from our winter home in Tucson. Oh well , can't have everything. Thanks for a great service. - John

Thank you for the Baycam.  I check the weather a couple times a week. The wind tracking is great on those very windy days. What a great service. All the best, Nancy

i am a daily viewer, my daughter lives up your way and i am able to know what kind of weather she is experiencing! i live the opposite, way down in San Diego and sometimes the weather gets here but most of the time we are dryer and surely warmer. thanks so much for the Cam---i will keep watching as the winter goes on. S.K. MORGAN

Thank you very much . The new camera angle gives a whole lot more information. I appreciate being able to see Bellingham itself, the bay AND, most gratifying of all, Squallicum Harbor. Sitting here in often foggy and chilly Carmel, California, I often view the calm bay and dream of taking my sailboat out of Dock "F". With my son moving up near the university, I can now have a more satisfying virtual vicarious living experience of your pleasant community. Regards, Charles

Hi there! My family and I are tuned in to your Bellingham Bay Cam from a small village called Dromore West which is located in the North West of Ireland. We look forward to moving to Bellingham in Spring of next year. In the mean time, we really enjoy seeing Bellingham Bay via the internet. Thanks! Best regards, Dearbhla

We would love to visit your area! Watching from Lexington, TN - Terry

Love checking out your cam. view of the bay from here in Bismarck, North Dakota. No trees, no water, no mountains here! Its just too flat and boring here and the summer's are way too hot....the winters are not fit for man nor beast! Only been here a year and I'm going crazy! This time next year.....I will be living in Bellingham and back where I belong....the GREAT Pacific Northwest! Hope you welcome those of us back who are mentally traumatized from lack of scenery. - Scott

Thanks for keeping me in touch with Bellingham's beauty. My husband and I visited Bellingham in early July and bought a house we hope to live in when we retire. Your site is an inspiration to us! - Sherry

The Bay Cam brings back some fond memories! My dad used to work for BCS back in the 80's and he would take me and my sister to look out at the bay. I now reside in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and about to come back to Bellingham. Just watching the cam brings back those memories and gets me even more excited to go back home to good ol Bellingham. - John

Wow, what a nice service! I live up in Glacier, and it is really handy to be able to know the weather down in Bellingham. I am taking flying lessons at Bellingham Aero, and it's helpful to know the weather conditions before driving 32 miles into town. Your Cam is a GREAT public service! Sincerely, Jim

Eugene, Oregon, where our local sailing lake is drained for the summer for Corps of Engineers repairs, looks fondly at the open waters and great sailing in the San Juan's. Our family will visit the docks of San Juan Sailing again in 2 weeks for our yearly pilgrimage to the most wonderful place on earth (as long as you understand and appreciate the Great Northwest). The weather-cam is our link to growing anticipation and the reality of our too-short adventure on a sailboat, together, friends and family, in such a remarkable place. See you soon, John

With your cam I can watch my son race on Tuesday nights from Camano Isl.  Who could ask for more!  Thank You... Fred

Watching from Hilo Hawaii, coming to Bellingham in August for a vacation and to scout out the area. We plan on moving there. I feel the weather will be more what we like, always hot and humid in Hilo, you can never wear pants, or coats. I'm sooo EXCITED!!!!!!! Chris

Hello, I love the bay cam shots. It is nice. I am watching from Mosul, Iraq.. SSG Ware, 1st BDE, 25th Infantry Division (STRYKER)

this is a great way for me to get my Bellingham fix - Delinda

What a GREAT PR vehicle! Sons Nick and Dean Ouilette own Bellingham Yacht Sales & Charter Service on Roeder Ave and have forwarded your 'newsletter' to us. I am very active in Maine Tourism and, particularly, our Kennebec Valley Tourism Council /The Kennebec River and Moose River Valley. Like your area of Washington State, our 'region' extends to the Canadian Border. Having visited our family in Bellingham and Ferndale, I attest to the '2nd most Heavenly place on earth'. I hope our KVTC will initiate a Web such as yours so that you may view our 'bit of Heaven'. Congratulations on a truly informative promotional effort. - Katie

Watching from California. Went to college at Western in the 50's, and would love to retire up there. Maybe we can make it work - looking at the bay made me soooo homesick! - Bev

Hi, I live on the beach at Sandy Point, but spend much of the winter at Big White ski resort in BC. I truly appreciate and enjoy the cam and weather information. Thank you, Mike

When the planet was being created, the gods made the Puget Sound area first so they would have a good place to rest during their toils.  Now, with technology being what it is, they can access your wonderful BayCam.  Ain't life good!? Joel from San Antonio, Texas

Hello from Tiburon, CA.  Yes, you think it's always sunny here...well it's not today; but we've currently got a few sucker holes with wx conditions similar to yours... except it's ~ 20 degrees warmer &-) Thanks for the view and maintaining your equipment. Hope to be visiting your guest dock soon, Kenneth

Hi, We are the Feller's, Ed and Toni, of Geneva neighborhood, presently working in Shanghai, China. There is nothing but smog and mist out our window this morning. It is Easter morning here, just another day as it hasn't 'caught on' like Christmas and even Valentine's Day, except of course for the Christians.  Our son, Darin, in Bellingham, just forwarded this site to us today. Now it is on our 'fav's' list. Thank you very much! E & T Feller

I think the web cam is great, I live in Birch Bay WA. I can check the wind, and water conditions before I take my boat out for the day. Thank you very much for this service, It saves me a lot of time.

i am watching you from San Diego, CA~~ my daughter moved to Belllingham and sends us pictures of the area via email. We enjoy seeing such beautiful scenery, so different from ours. - Clark

Visiting your site regularly lets me feel a little closer to my daughter, far from home at Western Washington University, and keep tabs on the weather in beautiful Bellingham. So different from the conditions here at home in Albuquerque, NM! - Paul

Watching the BCS web-cam from land-locked Kansas City, MO makes me pine for my homeland of beautiful towering mountain ranges, cathedrals of evergreens, symphonies of water and “the city of subdued excitement”. I know my parents also appreciate it as well. We all miss B’ham so much! Can’t wait to come for a visit to see the real deal!!! We have no idea what we have until we no longer have it. – Anna W, KC, MO.

G'day from Canberra, Australia. Friends who live in up the hill Bellingham have just put me onto your photo. I have visited Bellingham on a couple of occasions and seen the bay in more sunnier times. regards, Brian.

G'day from Grafton, New South Wales, Australia. Thanks for the Bellcam images as I will be visiting Bellingham in March 2005. Hi from Mark & Jenny from BRISTOL ENGLAND, Watching our favourite breakfast view !!!! have made many visits to Bayside café with our brother and sister in law who live in Fairhaven. Hoping to visit again soon.

As a former resident of Bellingham (1970-1980) I enjoy revisiting the bay. Congratulations to the city for the wonderful plans that are in the works. I live in Chicago now and yearn to return to open a authentic Chicago style hotdog, rib and deep dish pizza restaurant. - Steve

Thank you so much for your webcam!  When I need a glimpse of Bellingham Bay I visit your site. Both my boys still live in B'ham.  I am in Fitchburg, Massachusetts right now but I plan on moving back to B'ham as soon as I am able. Thanks again!

Hi! I am currently in northeast Wisconsin originally from Southern California. My son and his family recently moved to Bellingham and as I miss them terribly I spend alot of time checking out the view cam to see what the weather is like and feel a little closer to them! I can't thank you enough for this opportunity...I even download 2 or 3 times a day and use it as my computer wallpaper! I've tried to get them to go down there and wave so that I can see them....I love looking at the bay...we spent many years in Dana Point, CA and I truly do miss the water with all its sites and smells. Anyway, since we aren't moving to Bellingham until next year, I just wanted to say thank you for providing this beautiful view... Barbara, New London, WI

Connecticut likes your Camera!  I call a consultant who lives about 150 yards from the camera, before I call him, I check your website to see the weather, very cool!

You said in your web site to drop you a line if I liked your cam. I do! Very much and not just for no reason. I am located in Traverse City, Michigan and my daughter Bonnie, along with her husband Greg, have built a 34 foot sailboat in Bellingham over the past few years. It has been moored in the marina almost directly in front of the cam for the last couple of years. They have just returned from an 8,000 mile cruise to Hawaii and Palmyra Atoll after five months and may now be back in their slip. This cam has been a way to feel like they are much closer to us. I usually check it out every day while at work to see what the weather is doing there. I also have another daughter, Dawn, who lives in Bellingham. The name of the boat is S/V Willow. Stop by sometime and say hi to Bonnie and Greg! Yours Truly, Fred

Hi Folks, The sight (sic) says to drop you a line. So this hole thing is a great pun. My hook is down, i.e. the shore line is on the dock and I have a line to you. Thank you, it is good to see me, Dragonfly. - Michael

What a wonderful slice of Heaven, Washington State…. We just returned from a wonderful week sailing the San Juans. We chartered a sailboat from San Juan Sailing and enjoyed every minute! The Islands were spectacular, the food divine and the locals were by far the most enjoyable part of our trip. We herald from the hurricane torn state of Florida, which is a melting pot of the entire country. Bellingham and the folks in the San Juans, on the other hand, remind me of where I grew up. Everyone is extremely friendly, going out of their way to be informative on local sights, dining and places to travel. (We even talked on our flight back to Florida how wonderful it would be to live in your town.) You never know….. Now I look at your camera sight, longing to be back in the Bellingham. Thanks for keeping your site running; it helps me remember that wonderful trip through Hale pass into the San Juan’s. We will return! - Rick & Mary from Tampa, Fl, S/V MAGIC

It's nice to get a look at home.  I recently moved from Bellingham to Forest Indiana. I was cruising the web today and came across your website. It was a view from home. I used to live on Eldridge Avenue directly above Cold Storage. These pictures are like look out my back yard!  Randy

Your Bellingham bay web cam is great. I gillnet B Bay and the cam and weather info is a huge help. Thanks Terry

Thanks for your service. We are moving to Orcas Island, how similar is the weather? Do you know a cool site like yours for Orcas Island? Much appreciated, Michael Sedona, AZ

I just came back from a road trip to Alaska and stopped at Birch Bay state park last week. I loved it and wished I could have stayed more than a day but had to go back to Los Angeles (yuk!!) for work. I cant say how much I enjoyed the too breif visit to your state. There are far too many people here in LA (most of them from other states) and as far as Im concerned they can have it. Too many people, too much smog, traffic, and worst of all, to many people with attitudes. It was so refreshing to see that there are still places in this country where people smile and greet each other. You all are so lucky to live in such a beautifull place. I know many people in small towns wish they could get out of them and go to bigger cities, but once there for a while, the novelty of a big city wears off. Good luck to you all and thanks for the webcam views so I can remember my visit anytime I want. Cant wait to go back up there again. Would love to move there - and I know you want californians to stay in calif. But fear not, If I move there I wont bring any LA attitude with me. thanks again, Mike

Hello, I just returned from visiting Bellingham for the first time. Enjoyed every minute! Love the view of the water and the mountains without moving a step! Thanks for providing access to the view! Peggy from Farmington Michigan

View From Grand Junction, Michigan. An old buddy of mine and a member of your yacht club (Larry Nicholas on Ndorfin) just shared your website with me. I'll be checking it periodically to remind me of your great corner of the world. - Dave

Watching your harbor from Punta Gorda, Florida 33950. Beautiful view. - Wilbur

Hi, I just found your site and the cam. I plan to become a real fan. We are hoping to move from San Antonio, TX and it's heat and humidity to Washington. Thanks for a glimpse of our future new home state. - Kay

Greetings from San Diego.  I've been watching for about three years. I am finally going to be able to make Bellingham home.  One more month in Sunny San Diego and then Sudden Valley will be home! Thanks for helping with the inspiration. Tom

Hi. I love the view and the 30 second updates. I'm watching from Clinton, Missouri. Approx. 75 miles southeast of Kansas City, Missouri. Looks great, John

Hi, I was looking for something else entirely, but found this. I'm in Yakima, but I grew up in B'ham. It took me a minute to realize why it was a black photo, but I'll check back tomorrow in daylight hours to see the sights and perhaps feel cooler! - Karen

my husband & i were out there last August & stayed on beautiful Bellingham Bay - just like the webcam shows! We visited my son & new daughter-in-law - they both recently finished their service in the Navy - NAS Whidbey Island and are new home owners in the area. They are also both fully enrolled college students. We live in a suburb of Minneapolis, and last year was our first visit to that part of the country. Naturally, we fell in love with the area, too. we look forward to our next visit. I definitely enjoyed seeing the weather my beloved children are experiencing today. Thanks for maintaining the webcam site! vicki

Watching from Austin, TX. Thanks for the view! I lived in Bellingham for a year before I had to return to Texas. It was the most beautiful place I have ever lived with so much to do outdoors. I read in Outside magazine a few years ago that Bellingham was rated one of the top places to live. Hope to make it back one day to visit and have a fresh beer at the Archer Ale House. -Greg

Jealous in Aptos, CA. We’re planning a one-week cruise thru San Juan Yachts in September – beginning to try to learn enough about the San Juans to make it fun and stress-free. Collecting ideas and local information – open to all. Best, Dick

I Lived in Bellingham for 17 years. I drove for Greyhound Bus Lines for 17 years, out of the old Greyhound Depot at state & magnolia, before I moved to Aurora OR, I now live in Salem OR, I used to fish for salmon between Lummi & Orcas Islands from the old Hawleys Marina which is no more. My son lives in the house which we lived in, when he was just a youngster out in Chuckanut Village. I also remember when Charles Seifert tried to put up the Chuckanut Wall down on the beach which was just a log to keep people off the beach and the fights at city hall when the whole south side showed up to do battle against him. I came home one night about 12:30 am after finishing my run back from Seattle and I noticed a fire down on the beach where Seifert had put a big log to keep cars from driving on the beach. the log he had placed there was on fire, and a lot of the neighbors were down there watching it burn. Someone called the fire dept and they came out and watched it burn, they finally had to put it out but not until it was burned halfway through. I check that bay cam about once or twice a week. thanks for having it right on the bay. - Lars

Greetings- Watching from Sacramento/Davis area, California, and wishing I could move up there. Thanks! Joseph

Hi, My family loves the cam and current weather readings. As we all know conditions aren't all the same around here Yew Street Road can have one situation and the Bellingham Bay something else and the airport something else again. Your service is very much appreciated. Sincerely, Daniel

I like the view. Wish I was there now. I have chartered boats from Bellingham Charter Associates and San Juan Yachts off and on since 1991. In the process I have driven "my boat" (it was my boat for the one week charter that is) past your Ice House many times. Ron in Arlington, Tx

We're watching from NW corner of Riptide (white condo with light blue roof at 600 S. State) Thanks for the great site. - Pete   P.S. The green ICE sign fills my new 15x70 binoculars.

Greetings from Billings, Montana. Where Custer bought the farm and the Deer and the Antelope play and you don't mess with the Buffalo. I'll be taking a sailing course there in July and thought I'd look in. Thanks, Jon

Watching the Bellingham Cold Storage bay cam from Fayetteville, Arkansas, where I miss my sister and her family there in beautiful Bellingham. Visited your area in July 2003 and am anxiously awaiting our return. - Laura

Hello from Alameda CA. We just returned from a fabulous 10 days in Bellingham at the Fairhaven Village Inn, thanks Connie and staff. We watch the webcam frequently to keep an eye on our future retirement city.  We are in the design phase of our home on Samish Crest.  Thanks to our friend and realtor Pete Coy we had a grand time helping at the finish line for the Ski to Sea Race.  We stopped at the gate of BCS (or were stopped by the guard) who was kind enough to tell us which building the webcam was on and sure enough we could see it from downtown with our binoculars.   Keep up the great work! your site is fun. - Gary and Malinda

I am watching your beautiful site from Phoenix Arizona as my wife and I will be in your area this Friday and Saturday. - Gordon

Hi Just thought I would let you know I am watching from Farmington, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit). My brother moved to Bellingham last month from Phoenix and I enjoy “tuning in” to see the view and the weather. Just finished reading the history of the web cam. Great service you provide. Thanks! - Peggy

thanks for a VERY useful website. a great way for us boaters to get the real weather picture! Hope the wind meter gets repaired soon. - Ham Hayes S/V Piquero

Watching from Honolulu Hawaii. Terrific "aerial" views, something I never got to see when I lived (too close to the ground) in Bellingham.

Good day to you all, What a beautiful view of the bay. I am writing from Boscobel, Wisconsin. However, I was born in Spokane and grew up in Washington and California. My brother and sister-in-law live in Bellingham and sent me this site. Thank you for making this view available. It makes me homesick, but that's a good thing. Thanks. Ron

Lovely picture of the Bay, folks. From Wisconsin, it looks just right. Do you ever, on really good days, turn the camera around toward Mt. Baker?

Love to check the "weather" every morning at home from good old Yuma, Arizona. Nothing like seeing what is actually happening rather than looking at the weather channel forecast that is almost always wrong! Please keep up the good service! - Hal and Jeannie

G'day from Australia. Just found your web cam & now I can keep up to date on the weather on the bay. I have friends there that run the Bellhaven sailing school & boat charters. I had a brief visit there last Nov but it was miserably wet the day I was there. Would love to return in better weather. Cheers from Nev in Oz.

Hi, I'm watching the bellcam from Hurst, Texas. Love the view and hope to see it firsthand soon. - Laura

Watching from St. Helens, Lancashire in England....its cold, damp and miserable here so its a treat to see some sunshine....We last visited Washington in 1998 but hope to visit again soon. - Marlene

Hello, A bunch of us hang glider pilots check the cam to see if the flying might be good at Blanchard, for flying just south of Chuckanut Mt. Here is some shots you can look at or ad to your site if you like: http://russlfboe.home.comcast.net/img/blanchard/index.htm - Russ

hello! watching from s.d. very good day, indeed! hi babies in bellingham.

I am watching from San Antonio, Texas. My in-laws live in Bellingham. I like the cam and have been where the cam is pointing, I think.

I want to praise you and thank you for the excellent webcam and current weather page you have on your site. I do hope you don't mind that I have your site linked to mine to direct folks to your webcam page. Keep up the supurb job! - Dennis

we are watching from Utah. We are considering a move to Bellingham. We really wanted to "know" the weather. The web cam is the best way we can do that short of moving there. Thanks for your pictures!

Three cheers for the new weather chart! We live a mile from you and use the web-cam info for current conditions. It will be nice to have info on the past day! The Pinewood Joneses

We are watching from Portland Oregon. We look forward to coming up to Bellingham for a visit. We would love to move there and are interested in checking out jobs, homes, schools etc. Let me know if you know of anyone who would rent their yacht out to us to stay on as moored lodging. Thanks, Steve

I am sending this from Riverside, IL (just west of Chicago) and I love being able to look at the awesome sights of Bellingham. My dream is to attend Western Washington University in a year and a half, but for the time being, I just admire Bellingham from my computer. So THANKS, from Sean in Chicago.

I am in Bellingham and have a boat at Squalicum. This is great for seeing what the weather is like before I head down to the boat, or see if the winds are high enough to necessitate checking the lines. Thanks! -  Rick

Ijust found out about this eye on b.bay. I sail the sj is. and this is a v/good way to check the water conditions thanks

Hi Ya'll, from Bald Knob, Arkansas. I've lived on and off in Bellingham over the last ten years or so. I last moved in 99. Biggest mistake of my life. Miss it so much it hurts. I've a family now, so may not be able to get back out there. One never knows though. Thanks for the memories. - Todd

I'm in Birch Bay, WA now, but dreamed via your website for about a year before I moved from Redlands, CA. Planned to be in B'ham. Que sera sera. But still look at your website all of the time! Thanks! Kay

I was a long time resident of Bham now in Santa Maria, CA. Heard you had snow today so looked for pictures of Red Square and found this link. Great webcam, I will make sure and pass on the page to the boaters I still know in the area and take a look when I miss the bay. Phil H

Greetings! I’m watching the webcam from Red Wing, Minnesota; about 60 miles south of Minneapolis-St. Paul right on the bank of the Mississippi River. Here in RW it’s 3 degrees, low last night of -8, high today around 4 degrees. Best wishes, Dr. B

We check the weather from Grenada in the West Indies where the temp is about 85 degrees today. JMJ

Greetings from Michigan. I visited Bellingham this spring because I would like to move there someday. I loved it when I was there and my heart aches when I see these shots. I have no idea why, but I am strangely drawn to this place! michelle

Hi Belliingham. Gavin here, from Cookstown in Northern Ireland. I worked at Belligham Cold Storage a few years ago and remember fondly all those amigos who let an Irishman be numero uno when all I wanted to be was numero nada. I have never worked as hard since. I miss Belligham in a way I will never understand, so to get this cam-view breaks my heart, knowing that is the place where I left it. Cheers!!

Checking in from Tucson, AZ. Grew up in Bellingham and still have family there. - Jeff

I just checked in to see what the weather has been doing in Bellingham WA today. I am from landlocked Norfolk, Nebraska and had the opportunity to visit beautiful Bellingham this past September when we took our daughter to begin her first year at Western Washington University. (Hi Anneka! Love ya). We had never been to the Northwest before, what a gorgeous scenic state! I discovered your webcam while looking for sites about Bellingham and have checked in frequently. Makes me feel just a little closer to my daughter when can see the actual weather. Thanks for the site.

Dear Webmaster, Yes, we actually have your cam on our favorites. We both used to live there. Been gone 10+ years and headed back for a visit this next summer with our son. We love the sunshine here and will always love the Northwest, like family we always return to. Take care and thanks for the Bellingham Bay cam view here in sunny New Mexico. Sincerely, Gwendolyn

Ran into an ex-resident who told me of your city (she misses it terribly!). My husband and I are looking to relocate to an all-around "nicer" city than San Diego. Love this web-cam of yours!! - Jay Sarah

Hi from Georgetown, Texas. Been there twice. Hope to go again some day. - Norm & Ruth

When you move the cam to the left I can see (almost) my boat.  Thanks for providing such a great service, I look almost every day to see how things are in B'ham, where we keep our boat.  Not quite as good as being there but oh well... - Leif from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Pretty cool, even for a cold storage operation. I am near air port and will also use from my house in Geneva area. - Paul H.

Hi from England! We were due to come to Bellingham this summer, but Lynda fell sick just after we arrived in Washington State, and we had to be flown home! So we're definitely going to be with you next August! All the best, - Peter and Lynda from Oxfordshire England

Really nice job with the weather station. I being located in Illinois, always have questioned the "real" weather of which my sister often refers to as "real-nice". She is a live-aboard there in the marina and now I can can just point to your web page for verification. I've only had the oportunity of seeing first hand the weather in the summer time. Now I think this is really great, I can't wait to quantify the nasty-sloppy winter storms and the in-general DAMP weather of which is famous in the North West area. I enjoy forcasting local conditions there to update our parents and now with this cam site the updates will be even more accurate. Thanks again - C

I'm way down here in Florida and it is so awesome to see what's going on way across the United States in Washington. Thank you for making my day! - Debi in Florida

Hi Bellcold, I have a new boat (the Y KNOT) that I can plainly see from your security camera. Thank you for allowing me to view my boat. - John

Hi, We're going to be moving to Bellingham within the next couple of months and I just can't wait. This will be our third (and hopefully final) move in three years. Looking at the beautiful shots of Bellingham Bay keeps me going when I find myself getting SO tired of packing (yet again!). Tom from Kanab, UT

I am located in Atlanta GA and enjoy looking at shots of the bay.   Thanks for doing it.  I used to live in Seattle and hope someday to return to the great northwest and possibly make Bellingham my home. - Bruce

Thanks for providing the webcam view I linked to it through the BYC web site.  I see your bldg. every time I return to gate C and use your neon sign as a reference heading in good weather.  I am viewing from my home in Langley B.C. - Don

Just checkin' on my brother's weather from down here near Bakersfield, California, where Fall has finally arrived.  Nice to see the Bay anytime I please. - Dolly

Watching from Bellingham Massachusetts! - Theresa

I love your cam! I live in S. California and my son recently moved to Bellingham. Your site makes me feel like he's not so far away. Love the pictures in the "sweet shots" I hope to visit your beautiful city next spring. - Laura

We were able to visit Bellingham in Aug. 2003. I often go to this site to see what weather my twin has. We had a great time at the park, looking out at the bay, seeing the live fish aquariums. The weather was a good break from that of humid East Tennessee.

My sister lives out near Kelly road and the view of Mt. Baker was spectacular! If ya'll ever get out this way, stop in and see us at Winner's Circle on The Park Way, near Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, TN.Good Afternoon from Daytona Beach, FL. I visited Bellingham last year, and thoroughly enjoyed your city and meeting the people there. Thanks for the webcam view. Monica K

Hi, I enjoy the view from Rotenburg/Wümme (Germany). I wish I was there - Markus

Gives me piece of mind to look out over the bay, anytime! Steve

Hi - I punch you up every morning.  Brother-in-law Robert Mitchell of Morrill, Nebraska moors his old wooden boat on your far pier, tallest mast easy to pick out.   Wonderful town, bad weather in general, been there to see his boat and take Alaska ferry Inland Passage twice. Regards: George, Apple Valley, CA

Hi, I have been watching your cam for many months. Last year my son and daughter-in-law moved to Bellingham and your cam has allowed me to feel very connected.  It also tuned me in on what Bellingham was like.  Next Thursday I will be moving there myself.  Thanks for providing me with such a neat service. -  Sharon

WELL I'M IN JUENEAU ALASKA AND THE TIME IS 11:51 AND THE WEATHER LOOKS ABOUT THE SAME THERE AS HERE. MISS IT THERE. - TAWNA

My daughter goes to WWU so I love to check your webcam along with the shots from Red Square to see how her day compares with mine. Right now we're winning the heat race - but that's not necessarily a good thing! Love the shots of the animal and bird life too. Thanks from sunny California. - Susy

Greetings from San Francsico, I use your webcam/site to keep an eye on the weather. Our boat is located in Blaine and this gives me a great opportunity so see how the weather is. Great job

Its a great view. We just bought a property in Maple Falls and its good that we can see the weather in the Bellingham area. Watching from Henderson / Las Vegas Nevada. - Ed & Jo Ann Welland

My son is a graduate of WWU and refuses to come back to Barrington, IL and the flat mid-west. And I can totally understand why. He's added sailing to his list of favorite outdoor activities and now I can check on the conditions in Bellingham Bay as he races each Wednesday and Thursday. Thank you for keeping us connected. - Arlene (Hi Jason!)

Hi, I check it from Marysville, WA. I'm a paraglider and I check it for Blanchard hill south of Bellingham on Chuckanut, and for sites east of Bellingham. There are many hang glider and paraglider pilots who use the cam. - Murdoch

I live in Santa Rosa, California and I just love Bellingham. I hope to retire there in 2 years and I check in every day to watch the weather up there. - Richard

missing the city of subdued excitement from San Diego. can't wait to visit village books and my family in a few months. kate

My wife and I have a Nordic 44 sloop in charter service with San Juan Sailing. We've been sailing out of Bellingham for about 5 years now and enjoy ourselves every time we come up, even when the weathers bad. I just got a good look at you bay camera shots for the past hour 35-50Kts wind and lots of rain. Very impressive! Fortunately our boat is currently in Vancouver BC, but I will be bringing back this weekend. Thanks for the online view of your weather first hand. Thanks for your investment of $$, time and interest in the bay camera. Also, I really enjoyed your other "sweet shots" - Some really great photos! Thanks, John  and Gail from Menlo Park, CA.

The new weather station is great. My office is over by gate 3 in the marina & with the updated weather, I've learned our office shakes with winds of about 45mph!  I usually view the cam from home before heading out with the boat for a day of salmon fishing.  Anyone overthere interested in buying a boat? - Brian, Grand Yachts NW

Just wanted say how much we enjoy and appreciate the BCS webcam. It gives a great view of our boat and what is happening on the bay!! Thank you. Doug & Deb

Checking in from Prescott Arizona! --CLV

I'm watching from Tampa, Florida. I am down here for 9 months (6 to 8 weeks at a time with a week off to go home to B'ham). I always find myself accessing your site more and more after the 1st few weeks of my trips. Luckily I have a DSL connection in my project trailer, so the access times are fast. I only wish I could control the camera from the web! I am always showing locals here our beautiful city through your site. Don't worry about more people moving there, I keep telling them it is someplace in Oregon! Thank you for providing me with a lifeline back to my home. - Bill

I was born in good old Bellingham, and attended one quarter at Western many years ago. The family farm is still up on the Canadian line on Boundary Lake. Aloha from one of the world's most beautiful beach towns, Kailua, Hawaii. - Jim

Thank you!  I used to work at BCS from '85 to '91. I am now in Oklahoma, attending Oklahoma State University. I really miss WA, although we plan on returning and moving to the Enumclaw area depending on where I can get work as an I.T. professional. The summers are way too hot here (about 110 deg.) and way too humid. When my son found your webcam and told me about it, I had to take a look for myself. Even though I hated slopping fish, I miss the view I was able to enjoy during warm up breaks and coffee breaks. Thank you so much for giving others the opportunity to enjoy what I took for granted (until I moved away!) - John

What a great sight. Thank you I'm in Duluth Minnesota, and in couple months, we hope to have our house sold so we can move to Bellingham :)

I’m watching from California.  Planning a trip to the San Juans in August and just checking out all of the cams in the area. Thanks. - Nathaniel

Hi, watching the Bay Cam from sunny Islamorada, in the Florida Keys!!, My husband & I visited the North West last summer & hope to move there some day, until then we just keep checking on the weather & dreaming. THANKS!! Lee

Howdy from Capitola, CA, at the little tuck in the northeast corner of Monterey Bay--where it's sunny and (relatively) warm, but I can't see the beautiful bay from my kitchen as I can see your beautiful bay on my screen. Thanks so much--and I hope to see your area in person someday. - Leslie

Hi watching the view in BLI from beautiful Homer, Alaska. - Joan

Hi! I look at your site just about every day from work in Redlands, CA--halfway between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. I'm considering a move to Bellingham and this gives me an idea of the weather patterns up your way! Thanks for making this invaluable resource accessible! - Kay

Love your cam! We visited Bellingham about five years ago and left with deep regret. Everything about your area is so different from ours; you have water and trees, for example, while our area pretty much resembles a Martian desert. We're hoping one day to return for a repeat visit. Until then, cams like yours take us back... Thanks, Kevin in Amarillo, TX

My wife, 2 kids and I have recently moved from Bellingham to Australia (in a small town on the Bellarine Penninsula, near Melbourn).  Not speaking with an accent yet, however we left Bellingham just 3 weeks ago.  I enjoy going in to your websight from time to time to see how "the bay" is looking.  Regards, Jim

Nice site displaying part of Bellingham. I am applying to WWU. Hope to visit Bellingham very soon. Watching from Colon, Rep. of Panama. - ChiYu Chen

My husband and I lived in Bellingham while I was attending graduate school. We recently moved back to the midwest, but we miss Bellingham so much. Thanks for helping us keep in touch until we can hopefully move back! - Alisha

I love your Web Cam. I live in Florida and my daughter and son- in law live in Bellingham. What a difference in climate. I wish I lived in your great city. Christmas in Bellingham must be wonderful. In our area we can’t even buy a fresh Christmas tree because it’s just too warm here. Merry Christmas. - Gayle

I am visiting Bellingham on the 6th of January on business.  I have logged on to the Web cam but it is always dark when I log on due to the time zone.  I want to wave to my family when I visit on your web cam.  We live in Stoke-On-Trent, England.  Is this possible will they be able to see me? - Martin

Hi, I grew up in Bellingham but unfortunately I live in California now.  I regularly check your webcam to see what the weather is like in Bellingham. Believe it or not.. I miss the rain! - John

Ahoy there! I was wondering if you could point the webcam about 10 degrees west from where it is now?  My boat is out at the end of G WEST and I'd like to see it!  Especially now because it is lit up for Christmas. Happy holidays! - Stephen

Hi to the BCS bay cam! I am really happy to know you have the CAM and the weather!   I live on Eliza Island and sometimes need to know what the Bay looks like from the mainland. This gives me an extra tool when planning the boat trip back to the mainland especiall when the weather is bad!!! thanks! - The Littletons

What an interesting site! I'm watching from Antigo, WI...

Hi, Your Bellingham Bay Cam is great! My girlfriend lives up in Vancouver, BC and we’re tired of doing this long distance relationship thing, so I’ve found a job based in Bellingham and plan on moving out there in a couple of months. Your Bay Cam is one of my ways of getting some images of this faraway place (Bellingham, that is) I’ll be moving to soon. Thanks much, Gary from Boston, MA

Well Done!, I like to check in once and a while from Santa Rosa, CA. - John

I’m keeping on eye on you guys from Phoenix, AZ, where everyday is sunny. Can you send us some rain?!!! Thanks, Scott

Watching from San Diego, CA. Hope to come and live there soon. Thanks for the shots - Tom

As a B'ham native, I need to check in on the homeland now and then, and I appreciate being able to do so live. It sure looks cold 'n wet there right now. - Kenton, Los Angeles, CA (currently) 11/14/02.

Watching from San Diego, CA.  Hope to come and live there soon. Thanks for the shots. - Tom

I can't wait to see your cam.  It's like being there.  My father lives in Bellingham.  I visit your site 2 or 3 times a week. - John (San Diego)

We are going to visit Bellingham for the weekend of October 19th. I was really looking for information about what the weather will (might) be like there at that time. I'm guessing we San Diegans will think it is cold! LOL When it drops below 80 here, we reach for our sweaters. But we are looking forward to visiting something different! I see the view is wonderful! Thanks for cam. - Joy

BCS Friends, your bay cam is great!  I will visit often, as I do not have the great view of the bay from my office window (what window) as you people do.  Thanks.   - Mike
P.S. We certainly appreciate all the support we receive from BCS for our local Hospice program!

The weather box is a great addition to the site- thanks for putting it up. - Marin

Greetings - A friend of mine, John Staaf, sent me the link to this site. I lived and worked in Bellingham for twenty plus years before I got an offer I couldn't refuse and moved here to Seattle. In fact, we kept our boat in the marina...and raced on Wednesday nights, ah, those were the days. Anyway thanks for the site...it is great. If we can't live there at least we can get a peek at what's happening. Super job. - Gerry

Thanks for the porthole to sunshine and milder weather. In Sitka it rains a little more (80-100") I am enjoying your changes to the web site.  I check every day. - Lynda in Sitka, AK. Check our web site at www.sitka.com

Really nice touch adding the weather info. Especially the wind speed and direction! Now when "Thunder Bay" is acting up and I don't feel like taking a beating I can compare the wind speed and direction to the tide tables and along with the visual make a a pretty guess as to water conditions. Much appreciated! You guys rock! - Jeff from Birch Bay, WA

Just want you to know your Web cam of Bellingham Bay is AWESOME! I graduated from Western in 1986 and remember hanging out watching the Bay and the great sunsets. You are definitely doing a great and unique service. On behalf of all who have ties to B'ham, Thank you! and Keep up the great work! - Grant from Raleigh, NC

Just a note to thank you so much for the new web cam that gives you the wind speed.   We are going down sailing today just because we saw that the wind looked just perfect for an afternoon sail.  Before your web cam sailors had no way to know what the local wind in the bay was for the day. Coast Guard had only forecasts available and that was for the Straits of Georgia.  We are informing all the members of Corinthian Yacht Club of Bellingham that wind speed is now available on your website.  Thanks again. - Pat & Rod

Thanks for the great web site, I am just a pleasure boater but live out in Sumas. This gives me the advantage of looking out into the Bay and seeing first hand what it is doing right now. Very much appreciated. - Dennis

Good morning, I am watching your web cam from San Jose California. I am originally from B'ham, so it is nice to catch a view of whats going on. Although the ship in todays camera is blocking the beautiful view :) Regards, Jack

Thanks for the cam! - Barbara in Bellingham

OH MY GOD!! You put the wind speed on the web cam!!! Yee-Hah!!! As a kitesurfer and windsurfer living here in Bellingham without a waterfront view I absolutely loved the cam before. Now, it's the best thing since sliced bread. The best spot for kitsurfing on Bellingham Bay is just a mile or two to the west, so now I can tell, up to the minute, what the wind is doing on the water when I look at the webcam of the Bay Thanks BCS, Stowe, Jim, and anyone else that helps keep the camera going Mike

Thanks for the webcam. I like to see how windy it is on the bay in case I want to go windsurfing. - Andy and Marlys

We really appreciate the accompanying local and up-to-date weather conditions at your facility. We live in the Fraser Valley and can now not only see the marina but also get a first-hand and accurate description of the weather conditions at the marina. Hi, ICE House ! We're watching from Loma Linda, California. Our son is at WWU. Beautiful part of the world. Thanks so much for the roof cam! - Pete and Pat

I check out the view almost daily from here in Hampton VA. It's nice to think about someplace with 72 degree days when it's 105 and humid out here. - David and Tess

Nice View! I am viewing your web cam from Houston, Texas - yeeeehaw!  My sister lives in B'ham and LOVES it there!  Can't wait to come visit! - Linda

Hi! My best friend lives in Bellingham and sent me the link. Watching from Lawrence, Kansas! - Aly

I'm a Western grad living in San Diego, and that picture sure makes me homesick sometimes! Especially on those sunny evenings where it stays light until like 10 pm. Great cam! - Tony

Gorgeous view, I'm watching from Birmingham, England and hope to see it for real one day! From Cath

Thank you for providing this service. On July 31 we were returning from our vacation in the San Juans and telephoned our daughter in Edmonton, Alberta telling her to log in to your site and watch us as we passed by. We gave her a big wave as we passed under the lens, and lo and behold, sure enough there we were, center stage. She even saved the snap down for us and it is now our wallpaper! I have twice before thanked you and now thanks again! - Leif

Great View! - Horace from Denver, CO

Webcam Hello from Indiana. My dad live in Bellingham and sent me this address to see the Bay. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of seeing it first hand. - Dave

Hello, I just found your site. I love the web cam and especially the AVI showing the previous hour. I grew up in Bellingham. I left after Graduation from Sehome in 1988. I went into the Navy for a little over eight years, then came back to Bellingham after I was discharged. I worked for Boeing in Everett for a couple of years before a lay-off threat forced me to look elsewhere in the company for a job. I found my current job, and I love it. Though at times I can feel myself becoming homesick. Right now I am writing you from Space launch Complex 37B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (FL). This is the sight from which the new Boeing Delta IV rocket will be launched. Our first launch will be sometime in October. I want to thank you for providing such a wonderful view. - Paul (Boeing Pad ECS Technician)

I wanted to thank you again for your webcam. When my brother Mike is home from Alaska, I often speak with him by telephone while watching him wave to me on your cam from his boat - the Dragonfly - just across from you up there. It is a great way to feel close to my brother from way down here in São Paulo, Brazil. - Greg

Hello from Porta Westfalica (Germany) I studied at Western from 94-96 and I still miss this beautiful place and my friends.... I also learned how to sail in B-ham which was great!! - Oliver

Great view, I can now check up on the weather anytime I want. Still haven't been able to get a view of my boat, have to keep watching. It is next to the new bathroom facilities. I am watching from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Thanks for the webcam - Leif

Hi How is everyone? Im watching your webcam from London, UK. I visited Bellingham last Christmas and it is so beautiful! Its lovely being able to just load up a live image every now and then. You have the best sunsets there! Bye!

I'm a 34-year-old Corporate Communications Manager in Fresno, CA who checks your cam each day as reassurance that my imminent move north to the Fourth Corner is the right one. From my current Central Valley perch, my daily view is a dusty plowed field from my office window out of the manufacturing plant I work in. This is what I know. The cam gives me my only visual clue of what's ahead. It is where I'm going to. Up until this point in my life, no view has provided so much hope for the road ahead. Thank you. Tara, arriving in August.

A view of the bay from Chestnut Hill, PA ! Neat! Watched the Wednesday sailboat race, last evening. The gull on the pole was faster! Pretty calm this evening as well. Not much racing.

just have to drop you a line now and then to tell you how much I appreciate the cam. I live in Birch Bay, WA and I keep my boat there at Squalicum Harbor. I almost always check the cam (for several years now) before I decide it's just too nice a day to be slaving in front of a computer for my clients (I'm self-employed). When The Bay looks good, I pack up my laptop, forward calls to my cell, and head for the "South Office" (Chuckanut Bay). Thanks Again! Cheers, Jeff
PS I even checked it once when I was on a photo assignment in South Dakota and feeling as if I would die any moment because I couldn't smell salt in the air. ;-)

Hey fellow Bellinghamers.  I'm stuck here at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri.  Thanks to your trusty ARMY. I just completed 19 weeks of basic training and AIT. Now I'm here for BIDS training.  I can't wait to come home.  The view in Bellingham looks awsome as usual.  I'll be home in one month and then back off again to Ft. Polk, Louisiana.   Those of you who know where that is... please pray for me!  Keep the camera going... Private Adam W-  Hi to my brother Gary (Engineer at BCS)

I am checking the view from Yokohama, Japan, and looking forward to being back in Bellingham next month. - Willie

We're watching from Canton, Ohio. Our two grandsons go to Western and we visited the web site this evening and looked at the campus webcam and the Bellingham Bay Cam.

Just booted up the web cam... this is so cool.. I work out in the Guard shack.  It is neat seeing my work place from my home at Camano Island.  I really like the sunset cam shots too. M-, Guard Shack S/O

Thanks for the great view of Squalicum Harbor. I think I can pick out my boat, just south of the new toilet block. Now if I could only zoom.... I am viewing this from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Yes you heard right, it will snow (lightly I hope) today and temp will be near freezing tonight. Tough on the bedding plants. - Leif

Seeing this view brings back memories of my several visits to Washington. On my last one I visited Bellingham and took the ferry to Friday Harbor (1999) and had a marvelous time. I have many friends in your state and look forward to another visit. I am actually seeing this from the computor in my eigth grade classroom where I teach English. It is my planning period (I am NOT playing with the computor when I should be teaching!) - Penelope, North Carolina

Beautiful view. I`m watching from Montreal, Canada. - Allan

Hello, Nice to see the web cam photos of our much missed home! We lived in Bellingham for about 2 1/2 years once I graduated from college, 5/96 - 9/98. There is no doubt that Bellingham is the greatest place in the US!!! We hope to be back one day for good! Thanks for the web cam! - Monte from Iwakuni, Japan

Just a quick note to say thanks for the webcam. I used your webcam, along with the WWU Red's Square, and the Vancouver BC Burrard Bridge "KatCam" to check on weather conditions before I made my decision to move from Kansas to the Pac NW. Little did I know that after living in Vancouver BC for almost a year, and then in Fairhaven for 8 months, that I would one day be living in the "view" of the BCS webcam. I now reside on a sailboat on G-West dock, just in front of the BCS cam! Your cam is a bit too far east right now, but when it's looking south I can sit and watch my boat while I work here at Western. Thanks again! - Ken

I'm looking at your site from Boeing in Seattle. I really like the shot because our boat is on F dock in Squalicum Marina. Your camera is a nice way to make sure everything is okay in the basin. Thanks for providing this. By the way, I assume you're trying to cut costs, but I miss the ICE sign being on at night. I have thought it added a nice touch to the marina. - Marin (GB36 "La Perouse")

Hi ya'll. Watching from Athens, GA. Temporarily here while my wife attends graduate school. I miss home terribly! I don't know if I'm better off looking at the photos or not. Home in one long year... DCH

Hello! I'm a Bellinghamster, born and raised, and I miss home very much. I am now in Brevard, North Carolina, which is also a very beautiful part of the country. My heart is in Bellingham, though. When I was a kid, my friends and I hung out around the harbor a whole lot, and my house was just a block off of Eldridge Avenue, so it's really a treat to be able to sneak a peek at the bay now and again. Thanks for having this web cam! - Jon

Keep up the great shots.. :-) Thank You!! - Pearl

Greetings, I wanted to let your company know how much i appreciate using the Bay web cam. As a long time Bellingham resident transplanted to Scottsdale, AZ, seeing the rain, wind and water.. really makes my family homesick. Being able to walk into Starbuck's and know most of the people as friends is greatly missed. No cactus here takes the place of a really good rain storm. Thanks again. - The Robinsons

Thanks for sharing the wonderful views of Bellingham Bay. I was a lumper for a while at the Bellingham Cold Storage when I was in highschool. Hello to Pete and the rest of the guys on the loading docks. Jim from Spokane, WA.

Hello, I check out your cam every day from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  I own a sailboat which I keep in Squalicum Marina and my slip is a bit South of your usual cam position and so just out of the picture. However, I can see what's happening around it and continually wish I were there.  I hate to say it but you have more snow today than we do in Wisconsin.

Hi! I'm a former Bellingham resident now living in Southern California. My sister, Debra, works for your company and pointed toward the webcam.  It is great to be able to check in once in a while and see beautiful Bellingham. Southern Cal has been fun but there's no place like home. Thanks!  Brenda - Long Beach, CA

What a pleasure to see Bellingham Bay and the beautiful islands beyond. I had the pleasure to live in this fair, magical city for 12 years. Somehow now I have made home here in Santa Cruz, CA. (another beautiful city by the water) Seeing the bay at will is sweet. Thank you! ....B. Sheepherder

Thanks for the webcam - I went to Western Washington University and like to look at the webcam when I get "homesick". Jerry from Boise, ID

I am watching your web cam from Fitchburg, Massachusetts. I miss B'ham very much and when I heard it was snowing out there (1/27/02) I had to see for myself. G O P A T R I O T S !!!!!!!!

I'm sitting on my boat during the first snow in B'ham (1/27/02). Your camera is a new found joy on this winter day.  My boat is the blue masted ketch on "D" dock, next to the end-tied Brigateen which appears with the white and black squares on her topsides. Perhaps some day, if your camera should be focused toward the Zuanich Park, I might get an incredible picture downloaded. Sincerely, Nick

Watching from Skive, Denmark. Me and my wife have this summer a holiday in Bellingham, therefor we have seen life cam in Bellingham. - Bjarne

I want to thank you for keeping your web cam up and running. I'm a Bellingham resident temporally in Brunswick GA, where I am in training as a U.S. Customs Inspector.  I log into your website daily to see home... Hi! As a displaced Bellinghamite who now lives in Eastern Washington, I check in on your Web Site at least once a day to look at the beautiful bay and islands I use to see from my house.   I worked for BCS in the summers during High School (BHS class of '65).  Thank you so much for your camera.  Happy Holidays and God bless. - from Leavenworth, WA.

It's so great to see B'ham bay and the south side. I grew up playing down at the end of Harris befor they put in the Marine park.."The olden days".. Lynda from Sitka, AK

Dear webmaster, I am not sure I am emailing to the right person, but anyhow I want to give thanks to people who give these beautiful views of Bellingham. I studied at WWU from 2000 to 2001 as an international exchange student. Sometimes I wonder when I can be back and meet friends there. Best regards, JinHee Lee in Seoul, Korea.

Hey Just making myself homesick watching your bay cam on the roof of the ice house.  I grew up in Bellingham and miss it so much.  I've been down in Albuquerque NM the past 3 years and am now moving to Denver Colorado in three weeks for a job. Someday, I'll be back in Bellingham...for sure.  It's a great little town, the best I know of.  Adios, Jeramie

We love having the bay cam available, especially since our boat is in a slip right across from BCS! Thanks.

Just dropping a line to let you know you've added another viewer.  I'm watching from Duluth, MN where we have another big body of water right out the window - Lake Superior.   I was in your town last summer when my daughter married one of your area's (Ferndale) favorite sons, with the wedding taking place at the Alaskan Ferry Terminal - beautiful location/view. You can check our lake view at: http://www.allete.com/lakecam/ - Jim

Looks like a nice day in Bellingham.  It is hot and sunny here in Peru (9/8/01). We have been to macchu picchu, the sacred valley of the Incas.  We have hiked as high as 12,000 ft (Jim had to go to 12,800 ft). We have traveled by train, bus and air.   We rafted on the Urubamba River and survived. We again are going to listen to authentic Peruvian music, go dancing and eat more Peruvian food. Off to Lima tomorrow. Hasta luego, - Karen and Jim from Cusco, Peru.

Hi: We like the Bellingham Bay Cam. Great pictures, great memories. I grew up in Bellingham. I grduated from Bellingham High in '64 and Western in '68. My son typed in Bellingham on a search engine and we saw your site. We live in San Diego. Regards, Dave

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your web cam. I'm a boater (and a kite flyer), and I have been trying to use your cam to judge the current wind speeds on Bellingham Bay (even up to the minute!). This works well when one of your windsocks happens to be in the picture (when the cam is pointed to view your Nothewest dock). When it's pointed to the South (the "usual" view), I've been trying to see if there are any whitecaps on the bay, but this is difficult. I was wondering . . . do you suppose you could put up a windsock that would show when the cam is pointed to the South (the usual view)? It would be a big help to us boaters! Thanks for the cam. - Todd

After spending 10 days in Bellingham with family it was fun to find this live cam and see pictures of where we had been. Bellingham is a great place... we enjoyed it thoroughly and will definitely come back for a visit and enjoy some more of your beautiful scenery. Your moderate weather was a welcome relief from our 100* weather here in Tulare, CA(the central valley). Thanks for the great pictures. - Larry and Louise

Hi, I was feeling very homesick for the northwest tonight and found your website. It was a comfort to see that there are others in the Louisiana area who know of Bellingham! I went to Western and then lived for 5 years after that in Bremerton on the Kitsap Peninsula. I miss the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for the view. It cheered me up! Yvonne, watching from Louisiana

I like the Bellingham Bay Cam. I used to live in Bellingham, it's great to look out across the water and see what the weather is like. Thanks. - Al (Gig Harbor, WA)

I am a paraglider pilot from Vancouver BC. I use your webcam to see what the weather is like in Bellingham before I come down to fly at Blanchard Hill. I do not know if you can go back and view your past days 1 hour timelapse's or not, but if you can on Sat. Aug. 8th at around 1:00pm there was a spider in the middle of the lens. Kind of a neat shot, anyways thanks for the webcam. - Justin

My husband and I live in New Orleans, Louisiana on an island with Lake Pontchartrain on one side and Lake Catherine on the other side. Our son, daughter-in-law, and new grandaughter live in the Fairhaven area of Bellingham. We visit often and in between visits your site keeps us happy. Thank you. - Beverly & John

Hello, My wife and I are viewing the web cam from Heidelberg, Germany. We are moving to Bellingham in November! We are enjoying the views and can't wait to see the real thing! - kevin & jennifer

Just happened across your web site today and was very pleased to see the familiar sites of "home" again. We lived in Bellingham for 25 years and saw much of the development of Bellingham Cold Storage. Have enjoyed many excellant meals from your facility. Your coverage and view of the bay and area are great. Reminds us of the many wonderful days of boating in the San Juans and Canadian Gulf Islands---the most beatiful area to boat in the world. Its good to see that the company is healthy and strong. Keep up the good work. I retired from ARCO in 1985 as Safety and Health manager.

I am viewing your cam site from Merritt Island, FL. I have been out to Bellingham a few times and just think the area is so beautiful. My daughter lives out there and if I was younger I would move out there in a minute. Thank you for having this cam site. It is 94 here today so I can think cool as I view this site. - Barbara

We are Grandparents of two children that live in Bellingham with their parents. We live in Camarillo, CA, but visit our grandchildren in Bellingham as often as we can. Their father loves to fish in the bay and go boating with his wife and children often. They live close to the bay and he works close. We are looking forward to visiting the beautiful city of Bellingham again in the near future. Our son sent us the pictures that were taken of the Bay and we enjoyed them very much. Please continue!!!

Hi, My name is Patrick Van Haver and I did a language training at Eric Brown's home (BCS Plant Manager) in 1991. I had a great time and had the chance to visit the BellCold company. We still have contact through e-mail. Best regards to Eric. Oh yeah, I'm watching from Antwerp, Belgium. Regards, Patrick

I am watching from Baton Rouge, LA. I have my Mother and Sister living in Bellingham, and I like to check your webcam to see what the weather is like up there. Really nice! - Sterling

Hi... I'm viewing the web cam from Buzzards Bay, MA. We too have web cam sites set up on the Bourne and Sagamore bridges overlooking the Cape Cod Canal. I have visited this area a few times and dined at the Marina Restaurant. Our son lives in Fairhaven. - Keith Songer

We think the view is beautiful, it would be even better if you could take pictures from different directions. Perhaps in the mornings from the east so you can watch the sunrise, and in the evenings to the west for the sunset. We are in Tyler, TX which is 80 miles east of Dallas. And with God's help we are relocating to Bellingham the first of September. We hope to see this view live. Sincerely, Tom S. and family

Hello from Avalon Beach FL (on the panhandle near Pensacola). Enjoyed the view, and the pics of the Bald Eagle....Very nice!!! - Kenny

I lived in Bellingham for two years back in the mid '90's, and I visit friends I still have there every chance I get. Trust me, the scenery in Whatcom County is just a bit more beautiful than Montclair, NJ, and I love the fact that I can check out a live shot of the bay whenever I want. - Villani

Hi, Your web cam is awesome. Stunning sweet shots as well. You have some real "arteests" up there. Viewing from Redmond, WA. My partner (in London) and I have a boat up there. Thanks for keeping an eye on things for us! - Bill

Hello. droppin a line from Arkansas, USA. i would like to see the northern lights--any idea when they happen? thanks !! looks like a storm is fixin to happen there now.

Hi!  I stopped by your cam and saw the dark harbour.  I'm looking in fram Trondheim, Norway.  Later - Dag

Great shots. Fast server, too. Was at WWU and Fairhaven for awhile and a commercial fisherman for a couple of seasons with Warren Hansen. Since I'm in Cambridge, MA now, could you get onto your roof and move the camera so it picks up the fishing boats? - John

Great to be able to see Bellingham every now and again. I went to WWU for two years and loved it. However, I transferred out to UNC in Greeley, CO where I watch the webcam often. I'm currently watching it from Norman, OK. Thanks, - Dave

What a temptress!! Your views of the bay are like a siren calling to hop the next airliner to take our s/v Miriam out for a few days of cruising. But alas, work calls and the mountain bike needs someone to turn the pedals in Bountiful, UT. Thanks for the pics, it has turned into a daily ritual. - John, Bountiful, UT

Viewing from Deep River, WA. Went to college and lived in Bellingham forever. Sure brings back a lot of memories. And I still love you Jacqueline! Great site! - Dave

Howdy from Bill and Liza in Brookshire, Texas. We lived and worked in B'ham a few years ago and have filled the time since we came back to Texas with scheming as to how we can get back to Bellingham. We have just discovered your Bay Cam and will be watching every day now!

I'm watching from Blaine, Minnesota (north of Minneapolis). My family moved from Bellingham to Minnesota many years ago. We continue to visit Bellingham frequently and I always feel like I'm "home" when I get there! - Shireen

We watch from our home in Glacier, WA. It is a big help to us since we have a boat in the harbor and the weather is usually very different there than it is here. We have a bed and breakfast called Cabin Country Bed and Breakfast. Our guests also check the cam before they go touring in and around Whatcom Co. - Bob and Mollie

We just moved back to Duncan, Oklahoma after living in beautiful Bellingham for 5 years. We're all homesick for Bellingham, so we've been "watching" what's going on thanks to your LiveCam. You never appreciate what you have until you've left it....hope to visit B-Ham during the dry months. - Kelly

HI, I thought I would drop you a note and tell you I'm viewing Bellingham Bay from Madison, Wisconsin. The kids and I are taking the train to Bellingham this summer. I can't wait to visit. - Lori

This service is really great. I used to live in B'ham for about 5 yrs while in graduate school. I now live in Madison, WI and am extremely homesick. I check out the cam to get a taste of where I hope to call home in the future. Thanks! - Tom

Nice view. Watching from San Antonio, Texas where it is about to get very hot in the next few weeks. - William

Greetings! We currently live in Ventura, CA and have been considering making a move to B'ham. We have family that is moving there in about a week. I have been checking the cam several times a day, as we are always curious about the weather. It has been a great tool in proving that it does NOT rain all the time in WA. : ) Carrie

~ HI~ We are in Lost Creek WEST VIRGINIA and we just wanted to say that you web cam is really nice. The boats are really pretty setting in the water.

Hello Bellingham, I am watching you from Maui Hawaii. I used to work at the VoiceStream call center there in Bellingham and finding myself missing the rain and the beauty of Washington. It rarely rains out here in Maui so often I fire up a fresh brew of French press Starbucks and click on the web cam. It is a beautiful site to see, the bay and all. Thanks for the view, it is a friendly reminder of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest that I so miss. - Don

Congratulations on your civic pride in maintaining the cam and thanks for the view.   I am located in Lanham, Maryland just outside the DC Beltway next to Goddard Space Flight Center. I have close friends in B'ham. I can almost make out their house on the bluff across the bay. I hope to retire there in the next ten years. How's the real estate market? - Frank

Love the Cam!  Most Excellent!  I windsurf here in B'ham, and now am just getting into kiteboarding. Your camera makes my life better (seriously!): I am always checking the wind, so now I just check your webcam instead of driving across town.   I even put a link to it from my weather page geared at B'ham windsurfing and kiteboarding http://members.home.net/nw.wind/. Maybe you will get a picture or two of us kiteboarding of Marine Park this summer! - Mike

I lived in B'ham during the 80's and now in Austin Texas. My sister and hubby live in a condo just up from the Alaska Ferry so I'm checking in on them to see if I really can see her place. Great Cam! - Lori

Thanks for the views of B'ham Bay. Born and schooled there. Moored my schooner F/V Bobolink for a spell. Now with very thin blood I gaze NE from the massive cliffs of N. Kohala (Big Island) and imagine the next landfall is B'ham Bay. - Capt. Ed

We've appreciated the chance to check up on our new sailboat. We'll be flying down there in three days to sail it home to Seward, AK, and will wave to you as we depart. Our 'stay' in Bellingham has been enhanced by the opportunity you've provided to look at the view of the harbor. Thanks! - Karen and Michael

We've appreciated the chance to check up on our new sailboat as we've waited for the spring to arrive (and a foot of snow fell here on May 4-5.) We'll be flying down there in three days to sail it home to Seward, Alaska, and will wave to you as we depart. Our 'stay' in Bellingham has been enhanced by the opportunity you've provided to look at the view of the harbor. Thanks! -Karen and Michael Boylan, Eagle River, Alaska.

Looking at a this camera for the Tillamook, OR airport. Dave Godsey, Nehalem, Oregon.  Please send us a flap jackscrew assembly off a small plane.  As you said, it would be just the ticket for tilt control.
