Welcome Danyel Cammon, Executive Assistant

September 19, 2023

Danyel Cammon recently took the reigns as the new BCS Executive Assistant after having been trained by the retiring Sharon Rouse who we celebrated last month! Sharon took several months to transfer her 37 years of knowledge to Danyel, who joined our accounting team over a year and a half ago.

Danyel was an immediate contributor to the department and the overall BCS administrative team and has continued to pick up more and more knowledge of various accounting functions. Danyel is a quiet, yet very capable performer.

She is a true professional and picks up on just about every small detail when mastering new tasks. Danyel has the ability to manage several different projects simultaneously while keeping her cool. Danyel has also demonstrated the necessary heightened sensitivity for financial, legal and employee confidentiality. So, when it came to identifying a new Executive Assistant, Danyel was a natural fit for that important role.

Danyel grew up in Anchorage Alaska where she graduated from West Anchorage High School. She is one of seven children and the mother of five with one 3-year-old grandchild. Danyel was a devoted student all the way through high school and Bellingham Technical College where she earned her Associate of Applied Science in Business Management (2021), Certified Human Resources Specialist (2020) and an Associate of Applied Science as an Accounting Technician (2009). Danyel worked her way through her higher education years as a single mom, while raising 5 children that spanned 15 years from youngest to oldest. To say that Danyel is capable of handling a multitude of tasks while accomplishing great success with unwavering determination would be an understatement.

Prior to arriving at BCS and while she was putting herself through college, Danyel worked as a Bookkeeper & HR Specialist for Summit Bookkeeping LLC and a Tax Preparer & HR Specialist at Northside Tax Service LLC.  Danyel’s education and work experience prepared her well for her roles at BCS and we are so glad to have her on our team!

Since arriving, Danyel has played an active role leading the new BCS Employee Recognition team along with several other exceptional BCS employees. They have established a regular cadence of special employee meals, appreciation parties, and have recently taken on a new “back to school” project for all school aged BCS employee children. Our overall administrative and leadership teams are as strong as they’ve ever been, and Danyel will play a key role in keeping us all on track with a number of initiatives designed to keep BCS headed on a positive and successful compass heading well into the future.

Danyel enjoys running, hiking, and camping and loves her family and her dog. Danyel says that she has been known as a great cook and loves to make tasty food for her family and friends.

Congratulations on your promotion to Executive Assistant Danyel! I know that I speak for the entire leadership team when I say that we are excited and happy to have you on board!

Warmest Regards,

Douglas G. Thomas
